The Program

A year-long experience designed to help musicians build sustainable careers.

Musician Growth Lab’s flagship program brings together a small group of musicians from across the country for a year of learning, mentorship, collaboration, and growth. Through expert-led sessions, one-on-one support, peer community, and financial investment, participants gain the knowledge, relationships, and confidence to navigate today’s music industry and build lasting careers.

How It Works

  • Complete the online application and tell us about your music, your goals, and where you are in your career.

  • A small group of musicians is selected to participate in a year-long experience built around learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

  • Participate in monthly Growth Sessions, office hours, and conversations with professionals covering the business of music.

  • Each participant receives a grant to help invest in their music career and put what they’ve learned into action.

  • Graduation isn’t the finish line. Participants become part of an expanding network of musicians who continue supporting one another long after the program ends.

Interactive virtual workshops led by experienced professionals covering the business of building a music career.

Office Hours

Opportunities to dive deeper into Growth Session topic areas and ask additional questions, seek advice, and receive personalized guidance from mentors and guest experts.

A Community of Peers

Build lasting relationships with musicians navigating similar challenges, sharing experiences, and supporting one another throughout the year.

Career Development Grant

Each participant receives financial support to invest directly in their career, whether that’s recording, touring, or other professional needs.

Who Should Apply

Our program is designed for musicians who are serious about building a sustainable career. You’ve released music, played live shows, and maybe even toured.

Applicants may include:

  • Solo musicians

  • Bands

  • Singer-songwriters

We're looking for musicians who are actively creating and releasing original music and are committed to building a long-term career. More important than where you are today is where you're determined to go. We seek musicians who are ready to invest in themselves, embrace new ideas, and actively participate in a collaborative learning community.

Why a Group-Based Program?

Building a music career can be isolating.

Our program is intentionally built around a small cohort of musicians who learn alongside one another throughout the year. Participants can share challenges, celebrate milestones, exchange ideas, and build relationships that continue well beyond the program itself.

Because sometimes the most valuable part of the journey is the people beside you.

Program Commitment

Participants should expect to actively engage throughout the year by:

  • Attending monthly virtual Growth Sessions

  • Participating in office hours and discussions

  • Engaging with fellow musicians

  • Applying what they learn between sessions

  • Contributing to a supportive and collaborative community

The more participants invest in the experience, the more they’ll gain from it.
