The Musician Growth Lab is actively building its foundation, and we’re inviting people to join us at a pivotal moment. Here’s what’s happening now and what’s coming next:

1. Board of Directors Recruitment (In Progress)

   We’re assembling a founding Board with expertise across nonprofit leadership, business stragegy, community development, and the music ecosystem.

   This group will guide the organization’s launch, governance, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

2. Advisory Council Recruitment (In Progress)

   We’re engaging established independent musicians to help shape program design, identify real needs in the music community, and ensure the organization’s approach reflects lived experience.

3. Instructor Network Development (In Progress)

   We’re connecting with musicians, creatives, business experts, and industry professionals who are interested in sharing their experience and guiding musicians through real-world challenges.

4. Program Design (In Development)

   Our core program, the Growth Sessions, is being shaped through conversations with musicians and advisors.

   This includes identifying session themes, real-world skill areas, mentorship structures, and the scaffolding needed to support musicians throughout the year - and beyond.

5. Nonprofit Formation & 501(c)(3) Preparation (In Progress)

   We’re finalizing organizational documents, financial planning, governance structures, and early fundraising strategy in preparation for submitting our IRS application for 501(c)(3) status.

6. Early Support & Founding Donors (Quiet Phase)

   We’re beginning to share the vision with individuals passionate about strengthening the independent music ecosystem.

   Early contributions help build the infrastructure needed to launch our first cohort.

7. First Cohort Planning (Forthcoming)

   Once formation milestones are complete, we will announce a timeline for our inaugural Musician Growth Lab cohort and open applications to independent musicians.
